Dubai’s construction giant, Arabtec, has set up subsidiaries in Lebanon and Egypt as it tries to expand out of its UAE home-zone. For visitors to the UAE, Arabtec were the ones that constructed Burj Al Arab and Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, as well as Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The company is also considering projects in Bahrain and Syria, yet they decided to launch a subsidiary in Lebanon. Could something big be on the way? Let’s not forget, they are also the contractors behind the tallest tower in the world, Burj Dubai. Arabtec are known for their large- to megaprojects; it would be quite interesting to see what they have planned for Lebanon.
